Violence in childhood is a global issue that spans generations. Whether it be through the epidemic of firearm injury and violence or child abuse and neglect, this cycle of violence remains persistent. But what<\/a> are the systemic drivers of this crisis, and what can be done to end it?<\/p>\n On Sept. 3, the Baker Institute\u00a0Center for Health<\/a> Policywill host a discussion on the implications of exposure to violence in childhood, including the increased rates of mental and physical health disorders. The main speaker will be\u00a0Katelyn Jetalina, Ph.D.<\/a>, an epidemiologist studying childhood violence, who was named to the TIME100 Most Influential People in Health in 2024 for her work translating complex medical science into accessible public data.
