Mosaic Community Health, Deschutes County Health Services and Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades are bringing back their annual Health and Wellness Fair on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, from 11 a.m. \u2013 2 p.m. at Ponderosa Park (225 SE 15th St.) in Bend.
\nNow in the fourth year, the free community event continues to grow as Central Oregon\u2019s largest Latino-focused health and wellness fair. The event is designed to improve access to healthcare and provide preventative health\u00a0screenings\u00a0and community resources for Latino and Spanish-speaking families across the region. Services, information and activities will be offered primarily in Spanish, with interpretation services in multiple languages available. While the fair centers\u00a0on\u00a0the needs of the Latino community, all are welcome to attend.
\n\u201cThis event addresses health inequities that are present in our community by providing essential health services that many community members have difficult<\/a>y accessing,\u201d said Shana Falb, Community Partnerships and Engagement Analyst, Deschutes County Health Services. \u201cThere are many factors at play as to why disparities exist, from access to transportation to affordable housing and food security. Our goal is for community members to receive information they need, in the language they speak, to address factors that impact health.\u201d
\nEvent attendees will have access\u00a0to free on-site services including oral health assessments, temporary fillings and restorations,\u00a0dental\u00a0hygiene education and appointments by Advantage Dental+ and Capitol Dental; blood pressure and blood glucose screenings by Adventure Medics; dermatology\u00a0treatment and education, skin cancer screenings and wart removal by Project Happy Face; HIV\/STI testing and treatment, WIC services,\u00a0immunizations and health education by Deschutes County Health Services; basic vision screenings for kids by Casey Eye Institute\u00a0and more.
\n\u201cOur hope is that families leave with more than information,\u201d said\u00a0Jason Villanueva, Spanish Communications Specialist, Mosaic Community Health.\u00a0\u201cWhether\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0a health screening, a new\u00a0resource\u00a0or a connection to care,\u00a0we want people to spend a few hours investing in their health while enjoying a fun day with family,\u00a0food\u00a0and community.\u201d
\nBeyond health services, the fair offers\u00a0options\u00a0for the whole family with free food, shaved ice, raffles, Zumba classes, child<\/a>ren\u2019s activities, food box\u00a0distribution\u00a0and opportunities to connect with local organizations and resources.
\nThis year, the event organizers received sponsorships to\u00a0expand\u00a0the number of on-site health services\u00a0provided at the event. Sponsors include\u00a0Pacific Source Community Solutions,\u00a0Oregon Health\u00a0Authority, Bend Park and Recreation District and the\u00a0Central Oregon Health Council.
