    The first full week of August brings a mix of wellness, art, family fun and community events to Laredo

    Whether you’re looking for wellness reies for kids, here are five things to do in Laredo this week

    Sunset Yoga Class

    Tuesday, 7 to 8 p.m. Casa Ortiz, 915 Zaragoza St

    On the first and last Tuesday of each month, Casa Ortiz transforms its garden into a peaceful setting for its Sunset Yoga series

    Residents and visitors looking to unwind can attend for $15. No registration is required

    Breastfeeding Awareness Community Fair

    Wednesday, 10 a.m. to noon Laredo Medical Center Tower B, First Floor, 1700 E. Saunders St

    Laredo Medical Center is inviting expecting and new mothers to learn more about the benefits of breastfeeding during its annual Breastfeeding Awareness Community Fair

    In addition to speaking with healthcare professionals, attendees can explore red other community support services

    Rockin’ Your Way Back to School – Rock Party!

    Friday, 2:30 to 3 p.m. Joe A. Guerra Laredo Public Library, 1120 E. Calton Road

    On the first Friday of every month, downtown Laredo becomes a walkable arts district where galleries open their doors, artisans showcase handmade goods and live music fills the streets

    Featured exhibitions include Laredoan Moka Fernandez’s “Echoes of a Warmth” at Casa Ortiz, 915 Zaragoza St., and “Cool Drawings: Midnight Red” by a Nuevo Laredo nurse and artist

    Other stops include Los Olvidados, which will host an evening of live music, art and poetry with Laredo Border Slam, as well as the Laredo Center for the Arts
