Stockton families will have an opportunity to take care of their health while connecting with valuable community recreenings, vaccinations, family activities and support services together in one place
The event will take place Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Dorothy L. Jones Family Resource Center, 2044 Fair Street in Stockton. Hosted by Community Partnership for Families of San Joaquin, the celebration is being held in recognition of Binational Health Month, an annual effort focused on improving health and wellness while connecting communities with preventive care and health information.
For families, one of the biggest advantages may be convenience. Instead of navigating several organizations or appointments to learn about available services, residents can come to one neighborhood event to access health screenings, vaccinations and community reiduals and families
But <a href="https://lumeamara.online/?p=6810" title="Liberty Hill location of Impact Family Wellness moves to Leander”>Family Wellness Day is not designed to feel like a doctor’s appointment. Organizers are combining health and education with a community celebration featuring food, entertainment, raffles and a Kids Zone, making it easier for parents to bring the entire family while taking advantage of the services being offered
Transportation will also be part of the conversation. San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) is participating in the event, giving residents an opportunity to learn about transportation services and rets, education and other essential destinations
The Binational Health Month connection gives the event an added significance. The initiative promotes preventive health and access to services, particularly within Latino and other underserved communities. Events like Family Wellness Day bring that mission directly into Stockton neighborhoods by connecting residents face-to-face with organizations that can help them long after the event ends
That community-centered approach is what makes Family Wellness Day more than a traditional health fair. A blood pressure check, vaccination or conversation at a remily to services they did not know were available
