KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan and Uzbek officials have discussed expanding <a href="https://lumeamara.online/?p=4638" title="Yas Queen! Drag and Trans Women’s Mental Health“>health sector cooperation, including treatment of Afghan patients, pharmaceutical development and medical equipment production, the Ministry of Public Health said on Saturday
In a statement, the ministry said Mawlawi Hamdullah Zahid, deputy minister for Food and Drugs, met Uzbekistan’s Deputy Health Minister Ilhomjon Umurzakov and discussed the exchange of expertise and cooperation in treating Afghan patients, especially those suffering from cancer, heart disease and other illnesses
The two sides stressed expanding health cooperation, launching joint initiatives and strengthening technical ties, the statement added
Zahid also held separate talks with Abdulla Azizov, head of Uzbekistan’s Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry and Medical Equipment, on technical staff training, pharmaceutical industry development, quality-control laboratories and laboratory equipment cooperation
The deputy minister thanked Uzbekistan for its continued support, saying joint efforts could help build technical capacity, improve healthcare services, develop the pharmaceutical sector and strengthen bilateral relations
Uzbek officials expressed readiness to further expand cooperation in health, pharmaceutical and medical products sectors, reaffirming their commitment to continued collaboration, the statement said
