VIENNA, W.Va. (WTAP) – The annual WVU Medicine Health and Wellness Day returned to the Grand Central Mall, drawing a strong turnout of area residents eager to explore local <a href="https://lumeamara.online/?p=4941" title="Joshua Omale: Healthcare Never Meets a Child at the Beginning – OncoDaily”>healthcare options
More than 75 vendors and representatives from various Camden Clark departments lined the mall concourse, offering visitors an interactive look at medical services available close to home
Louie Haer, director of the Camden Clark Health and Wellness Center, emphasized that the event’s primary goal is to highlight the high-quality care available right in the Mid-Ohio Valley
“It’s very important to show what Camden Clark does for our community,” Haer said. “Just about every department of Camden Clark is represented, and that’s important so people can see what’s out there.”
Haer noted that the event allows residents to learn about hospital innovations without needing to travel far for treatment
“You do not have to leave the Parkersburg area to get great care,” Haer added. “You can come right to Camden Clark and get that care—and if you need to go back, we’re there for you. It’s a great event.”
The event provided immediate community health benefits, including vouchers for low-cost lab work and free health screenings. Younger attendees also participated in interactive activities, including a teddy bear clinic and a Fit Fest dance party
Haer said he hopes the annual gathering empowers individuals to take an active, daily role in their personal wellness through consistent preventative measures
“There’s a lot of things you can do on a personal level,” Haer said. “And that’s your preventative screening, every single year… You need to check on things continually to make sure you’re healthy. Doing the right things to help that—eating right, sleeping right, doing your yearly blood tests and checks—things like that are very important.”
