Hayden Panettiere got honest about her ‘mental health’ before sudden death

Hayden Panettiere was really looking forward to leaving an unwavering mark on the world before her sudden death

For those unaware, the renowned American actress and singer, who is famous for playing Kirby Reed in the slasher horror franchise Scream, passed away at the age of 36. Police have opened an investigation into her death, examining the possibility of suicide

While promoting her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning,at a Los Angeles book event hosted by Book Soup at the Harmony Gold Theater on May 26, 2026, Panettiere talked about her future and the stories of her recovery she had heard from others

The Remember the Titans star shared, “So many people have come up to me within the industry and outside of the industry and shared their stories with me and said, ‘Because you’ve talked about your mental health, it gave me the courage to be honest about mine and get myself help, and you saved my life.’”

She went on to admit that those encounters turned challenging parts of her into something useful

“And I was like, this is worth it. I can hopefully leave the world a better place than I found it. The strength is in our vulnerability,” Hayden Panettiere stated
