Sindh Senior Minister for Information and Transport & Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon has said the provincial government has accorded health and education the status of fundamental public rights, with the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) standing as a practical embodiment of the government’s ‘Health for All’ vision
A statement quoted Memon as saying that 4,740,941 patients have received treatment, with 4,184,950 patients from Sindh alone benefiting from the NICVD’s services. The Sindh government has extended modern, free cardiac care facilities to various cities across the province, while cardiac treatment services are being provided to different regions through NICVD satellite units, he added
He remarked that cancer patients in Sindh are being provided with state-of-the-art treatment through the CyberKnife technology. The establishment of such advanced medical facilities in the province is a testament to the government’s commitment to delivering world-class health care to the public
He said the Sindh Institute of Urology & Transplantation (SIUT) is a privileged and deserving patients, and offering modern medical facilities, including treatment for complex diseases, without discrimination
The senior minister stressed that the SIUT, the NICVD as well as other institutions are practical examples of the pro-people health vision of the provincial government. He said that modern medical facilities are being provided to children and newborns across the province through the Sindh Institute of Child Health & Neonatology. The government’s objective is to ensure that no impoverished citizen is deprived of medical treatment due to a lack of funds, he added.
He also said improvements in the education sector guarantee a bright future for Sindh. The provincial government has recruited more than 93,000 teachers on merit in the education sector, marking a significant milestone in its educational reforms, he added
Memon said the government’s focus extends beyond merely enrolling children in schools, and its objectives also include providing quality education and achieving better learning outcomes. The school in Latifabad, Hyderabad, stands as a prime example of the government’s vision to improve public schools, he added
He noted that the Peoples Schools initiative is crucial for delivering quality education and a modern learning environment in Sindh, while the Aror University serves as a key hub for promoting modern education, research, art, design and cultural heritage
He said the Sindh government’s investment in health and education is, in essence, an investment in the province’s future. The government is committed to ensuring that no child is deprived of education and no citizen is denied medical treatment, he concluded
